Let’s be honest.
What do kids think about the most during Christmas?
It’s all about opening presents on Christmas morning.
It’s only once a year where you can see their eyes light up in delight after they’ve ripped away the Christmas wrapping and find a toy, a game or whatever else they may (or may not) have asked for.
But children aren’t young forever.
There are going to be many years later on in life where you can give them “useful” things.
How would you like to get a vacuum cleaner for Christmas?
That’s something useful for you isn’t it.
Then think of the kids.
That’s how they feel when they get something useful too (like clothes).
Don’t ruin the magic of this day for kids because before long they will no longer believe in Santa Claus.
So enjoy it while it lasts and don’t give them something “useful”… that’s mean.
Nothing’s as mean as giving a little child something useful for Christmas. – Kin Hubbard
